After some research, I finally found the solution that worked for me. Fortunately, fixing this issue is an easy job. But I recently noticed that the copy-paste function doesn’t work in either directions (Host to Guest, Guest to Host or Bidirectional). However, if the clipboard stops working correctly, you can’t copy and paste anymore. When you paste it, you paste it from the clipboard. After going through all of the usual, uninstall vmtools / re-install yada yada, I finally unshared the VM's.

My windows 10 Pro and window 7 pro that were SHARED were the culprits. These are universal shortcuts that work in most Windows programs. Every time you copy a text or an image, Windows 10 saves it on a virtual clipboard. The only difference: All of my unshared VM's worked fine copy/paste OK.
